 Introduced  by  Sen.  AVELLA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN ACT in relation to authorizing the installation of stop signs at  the
   intersection  of 5th Avenue and the Whitestone Expressway Service Road
   in Whitestone, New York by the New York city department of transporta-
   tion
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  commissioner  of  transportation  is  authorized and
 directed, if after an investigation and  finding  such  stop  signs  are
 appropriate, to direct the New York city department of transportation to
 install  all  necessary stop signs at the intersection of 5th Avenue and
 the Whitestone Expressway Service Road in Whitestone, New York to effec-
 tuate an all-way stop at such intersection.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
 it shall have become a law; provided, however that the  commissioner  of
 transportation  is  hereby  authorized to promulgate all rules and regu-
 lations and take any other measures necessary to implement this  act  on
 its effective date.
