BILL NUMBER: S7577 SPONSOR: GALLIVAN TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 396 of the laws of 2012, amending the education law relating to services to out-of-state school districts by boards of cooperative educational services, in relation to making the provisions thereof permanent PURPOSE: This legislation makes permanent the ability of Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) to sell programs and services to out-of- state school districts. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section one of the bill removes the repeal date to make permanent the provisions established pursuant to Chapter 396 of the laws of 2012. Section two establishes the effective date.

GALLIVAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education AN ACT to amend chapter 396 of the laws of 2012, amending the education law relating to services to out-of-state school districts by boards of cooperative educational services, in relation to making the provisions thereof permanent THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 4 of chapter 396 of the laws of 2012 amending the education law relating to services to out-of-state school districts by boards of cooperative educational services, as amended by chapter 28 of the laws of 2014, is amended to read as follows: § 4. This act shall take effect immediately [and shall expire and be deemed repealed July 1, 2019]. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD05864-01-7
