 Introduced  by  Sen.  GOLDEN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
 AN ACT to amend Part AAA of chapter 59 of the laws of 2017, amending the
   vehicle and traffic law and other laws relating to the  regulation  of
   transportation network company services, in relation to the effective-
   ness thereof

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 26 of part AAA of chapter 59 of the laws  of  2017,
 amending  the  vehicle  and  traffic  law and other laws relating to the
 regulation of transportation network company  services,  as  amended  by
 chapter 34 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows:
   §  26.  This act shall take effect on the eightieth day after it shall
 have become a law; provided that the  amendments  to  subdivision  1  of
 section  171-a  of the tax law made by section fifteen of this act shall
 not affect the expiration of such subdivision and  shall  expire  there-
 with,  when upon such date the provisions of section sixteen of this act
 shall take effect; provided however that coverage provided  pursuant  to
 paragraph (b) of subdivision 1 of section 160-cc of the executive law as
 added  by section eleven of this act shall be deemed repealed [one year]
 TWO YEARS from the effective date of this act; provided,  further,  that
 any  TNC  driver  permitted to operate prior to the repeal of such para-
 graph shall not see a reduction in coverage.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
