 Introduced  by  Sen.  CROCI  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Finance
 
 AN ACT to amend the state finance  law,  in  relation  to  the  homeless
   veterans assistance fund
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 99-v of the state finance law,  as
 added by chapter 428 of the laws of 2014, is amended to read as follows:
   4.  Moneys  of  the fund shall be expended only for the assistance and
 care of homeless veterans, for housing and housing-related expenses,  as
 determined  by  the  division  of veterans affairs.   MONEYS OF THE FUND
 RECEIVED PRIOR TO DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST, TWO THOUSAND EIGHTEEN  MUST  BE
 EXPENDED  BY DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST, TWO THOUSAND NINETEEN. MONEYS OF THE
 FUND RECEIVED AFTER DECEMBER THIRTY-FIRST, TWO THOUSAND EIGHTEEN MUST BE
 EXPENDED WITHIN TWO YEARS OF RECEIPT.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
