 AN ACT to amend the general municipal law  and  the  executive  law,  in
   relation  to requiring police officers to be retrained in cardiopulmo-
   nary resuscitation every two years

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
 "Briana's Law".
   § 2. The general municipal law is amended  by  adding  a  new  section
 208-h to read as follows:
   §   208-H.   BIENNIAL  POLICE  OFFICER  CARDIOPULMONARY  RESUSCITATION
 RETRAINING. EVERY POLICE OFFICER IN A  CITY,  COUNTY,  TOWN  OR  VILLAGE
 SHALL, EVERY TWO YEARS BE:
   1.  RETRAINED  IN CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION AS DEFINED BY SUBDIVI-
 SION SIX OF SECTION SIX HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE OF THE GENERAL BUSINESS  LAW;
 AND
   2.  REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE THE SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF TRAINING IN
 CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION.
   § 3. The executive law is amended by adding a new section 233 to  read
 as follows:
   §  233.  BIENNIAL  STATE  POLICE OFFICER CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION
 RETRAINING. EVERY STATE POLICE OFFICER SHALL, EVERY TWO YEARS BE:
   1. RETRAINED IN CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION AS DEFINED  BY  SUBDIVI-
 SION  SIX OF SECTION SIX HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE OF THE GENERAL BUSINESS LAW;
 AND
   2. REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE THE SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF TRAINING  IN
 CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION.
   §  4.  This  act  shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
 have become a law.

 AN ACT to amend the executive law and the  administrative  code  of  the
   city  of New York, in relation to requiring members of the division of
   state police and police officers of the police department of the  city
   of  New  York  to be trained and retrained in cardiopulmonary resusci-
   tation
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
 "Briana's law".
   § 2. The executive law is amended by adding a  new  section  214-e  to
 read as follows:
   §  214-E.  CARDIOPULMONARY  RESUSCITATION  TRAINING AND RETRAINING. 1.
 FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, "CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION"  SHALL
 HAVE  THE  SAME  MEANING  AS  PROVIDED IN SUBDIVISION SIX OF SECTION SIX
 HUNDRED TWENTY-ONE OF THE GENERAL BUSINESS LAW.
   2. EACH MEMBER OF THE DIVISION OF STATE POLICE SHALL BE:
   (A) TRAINED IN CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION DURING THE TRAINING PROC-
 ESS TO BECOME A TROOPER;
   (B) RETRAINED IN CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION EVERY TWO YEARS; AND
   (C) REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE THE SATISFACTORY COMPLETION OF TRAINING IN
 CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION.
   § 3. Subdivision b of section 14-165 of the administrative code of the
 city of New York, as added by local law number 137 of the  city  of  New
 York for the year 2016, is amended to read as follows:
   b.  Training.  The department shall [identify when] REQUIRE ALL POLICE
 OFFICER TRAINEES TO COMPLETE TRAINING IN  cardiopulmonary  resuscitation
 and automated external defibrillation [training is appropriate] PRIOR TO

   cardiopulmonary resuscitation every two years
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
 "Briana's law".
   § 2. The executive law is amended by adding a  new  section  214-e  to
 read as follows:
   §  214-E.  CARDIOPULMONARY  RESUSCITATION TRAINING AND RETRAINING.  1.
 FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, "CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION"  SHALL
