 Introduced  by  Sen. VALESKY -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Higher Education
 
 AN ACT to amend the education law, in  relation  to  contracts  for  the
   Arthur O.  Eve opportunity for higher education
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Paragraphs g and h of subdivision 3 of section 6451 of  the
 education  law, as added by chapter 494 of the laws of 2016, are amended
 and two new paragraphs i and j are added to read as follows:
   g. Expenses related to helping students  apply  for  and  prepare  for
 graduate or professional school; [and]
   h.  The  hiring of enrolled students participating in an Arthur O. Eve
 opportunity for higher education work-study program[.];
   I. THE HIRING OF CLERICAL SUPPORT STAFF; AND
   J. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES AND TRAVEL FOR PROGRAM STAFF.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and the  same  manner
 as chapter 494 of the laws of 2016, takes effect.
