BILL NUMBER: S6908 SPONSOR: AMEDORE TITLE OF BILL: An act to authorize Sean Ralston to take the compet- itive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer PURPOSE: Authorizes Sean Ralston to take the competitive exam for full-time police officer and be placed on the eligible list for such position. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Authorizes Sean Ralston to sit for the civil service exam and be placed on the eligibility list for full-time police officer. Section 2. Sean Ralston is subject to the merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time officers Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.

AMEDORE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to authorize Sean Ralston to take the competitive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil service law or any other provision of law to the contrary, Sean Ralston, who has been continuously employed by the village of Altamont, in the county of Albany, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full- time police officer. § 2. Sean Ralston shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi- cers. § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
