Automatically extends enrollment of individuals in the rent increase exemption program for low income elderly persons and persons with disabilities pursuant to section 467-b or 467-c of the real property tax law, the senior citizen homeowners' exemption program pursuant to section 467 of the real property tax law or the disabled homeowners' exemption program pursuant to section 459-c of the real property tax law until January 1, 2021 in response to novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 10328 I N A S S E M B L Y April 22, 2020 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. REYES -- read once and referred to the Committee on Aging AN ACT to automatically extend the enrollment of individuals in certain programs in response to novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, any individ- ual enrolled in the rent increase exemption program for low income elderly persons and persons with disabilities pursuant to section 467-b or 467-c of the real property tax law, the senior citizen homeowners' exemption program pursuant to section 467 of the real property tax law or the disabled homeowners' exemption program pursuant to section 459-c of the real property tax law as of the effective date of this act shall remain enrolled in such program until January 1, 2021. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD16154-01-0
