 Introduced  by  COMMITTEE  ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. D. Rosen-
   thal) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health
 
 AN ACT in relation to requiring that  nursing  home  patients  who  have
   previously  tested positive for COVID-19 shall produce a negative test
   result before he or she can be readmitted to such nursing home

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Notwithstanding  any  law to the contrary, a nursing home
 resident who has been admitted to a hospital  as  a  result  of  testing
 positive  for  COVID-19  shall  not  be  readmitted to such nursing home
 unless such resident submits to retesting for  COVID-19  by  a  licensed
 medical  professional  and can produce a negative test result, irrespec-
 tive of whether such resident's COVID-19 symptoms have subsided.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
