 AN ACT to establish an amnesty program for tolls charged  on  the  Cross
   Bay  Veterans  Memorial  Bridge  and to prohibit the collection of any
   toll or associated fee for travel over such bridge

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  1.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary,
 the metropolitan transportation authority  shall  establish  an  amnesty
 program for any person charged with the payment of a toll or any associ-
 ated  fees  for the use of the Cross Bay Veterans Memorial Bridge who is
 enrolled in the rebate program for residents of the  Rockaway  Peninsula
 for travel over such bridge. Such amnesty program shall allow any person
 charged  with  a  toll  or  associated  fee for the use of the Cross Bay
 Veterans Memorial Bridge who is enrolled in such rebate program to  have
 such  tolls  or  associated fees waived for a period of ninety days from
 the establishment of such amnesty program.
   2. Notwithstanding any provision  of  law  to  the  contrary,  at  the
 conclusion  of  the  amnesty program established pursuant to subdivision
 one of this section, no toll or  associated  fee  shall  be  levied  and
 collected  on  the  Cross  Bay  Veterans  Memorial Bridge for any person
 enrolled in the rebate program for residents of the  Rockaway  Peninsula
 for travel over such bridge.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
