 AN ACT to amend the transportation law, in relation to  authorizing  the
   commissioner  of  the  department of transportation to enroll New York
   state in any federal pilot program or project for the  collection  and
   study of various roadway and transportation data
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 14 of the transportation law is amended by adding a
 new subdivision 36 to read as follows:
   36. TO ENROLL THE STATE OF NEW YORK IN ANY FEDERAL  PILOT  PROGRAM  OR
 PROJECT  FOR  THE COLLECTION AND STUDY OF DATA FOR THE REVIEW OF FEDERAL
 OR STATE ROADWAY SAFETY, INFRASTRUCTURE SUSTAINABILITY, CONGESTION MITI-
 GATION, TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM EFFICIENCY, AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE TECHNOLOGY,
 OR CAPACITY CHALLENGES.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
