ROSENTHAL, SIMON, SIMOTAS, SOLAGES, THIELE, WALSH -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to enacting the "safe staffing for quality care act" THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Short title. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "safe staffing for quality care act". § 2. Paragraphs (a) and (b) of subdivision 2 of section 2805 of the public health law, paragraph (a) as amended by chapter 923 of the laws of 1973 and paragraph (b) as added by chapter 795 of the laws of 1965, are amended to read as follows: (a) Application for an operating certificate for a hospital shall be made upon forms prescribed by the department. The application shall [contain] INCLUDE the name of the hospital, the kind or kinds of hospi- tal service to be provided, the location and physical description of the institution, A DOCUMENTED STAFFING PLAN, AS DEFINED IN SECTION TWENTY- EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT OF THIS ARTICLE, and such other information as the department may require.
