 AN ACT to amend the county law, in relation to disclosure of the  amount
   of  assault complaints received and the amount that were prosecuted by
   the district attorney
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  700 of the county law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 14 to read as follows:
   14. THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY SHALL  MAINTAIN  A  WRITTEN  RECORD  OF  THE
 NUMBER  OF  ASSAULT COMPLAINTS THEY HAVE RECEIVED AND THE NUMBER OF SUCH
 COMPLAINTS THEY HAVE PROSECUTED.  SUCH RECORDS SHALL INCLUDE  COMPLAINTS
 ALLEGING  OFFENSES  UNDER  ARTICLE  ONE  HUNDRED  TWENTY AND ARTICLE ONE
 HUNDRED THIRTY OF THE PENAL LAW. A COPY OF SUCH RECORDS SHALL  BE  FILED
 ANNUALLY IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK OF THE COUNTY AND SHALL BE AVAILABLE
 FOR INSPECTION BY THE PUBLIC.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
