 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  education law, in relation to mandatory student
   enrollment reporting

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 319 to
 read as follows:
   §  319.  MANDATORY STUDENT ENROLLMENT REPORTING. 1. ALL PUBLIC SCHOOLS
 LOCATED WITHIN THE STATE, REGARDLESS OF LEVEL, SHALL REPORT  THE  NUMBER
 OF  STUDENTS  ENROLLED  IN SUCH SCHOOL TO THE DEPARTMENT TRIENNIALLY, ON
 OCTOBER THIRTY-FIRST, JANUARY THIRTY-FIRST, AND APRIL THIRTIETH OF  EACH
 YEAR.
   2.  EACH  REPORT SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED WITH SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION OF
 SUCH ENROLLMENT. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION,  THE  COMMISSIONER  SHALL
 DETERMINE WHAT SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION IS NECESSARY.
   3.  EACH  REPORT  SHALL BE PUBLISHED AND PUBLICLY SHARED ON THE SCHOOL
 DISTRICT'S WEBSITE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF SUBMISSION TO THE DEPARTMENT.
   4. FOR PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, "ENROLLMENT" SHALL MEAN THE  UNDUPLI-
 CATED  COUNT  OF ALL CHILDREN REGISTERED TO RECEIVE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES
 IN GRADES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH TWELVE, INCLUDING  CHILDREN  IN  UNGRADED
 PROGRAMS.
   §  2.  Section  2854  of  the education law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision 4 to read as follows:
   4. MANDATORY STUDENT ENROLLMENT REPORTING.  (A)  ALL  CHARTER  SCHOOLS
 LOCATED WITHIN THE STATE SHALL REPORT THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS ENROLLED TO
 THE  DEPARTMENT  TRIENNIALLY,  ON  OCTOBER THIRTY-FIRST, JANUARY THIRTY-
 FIRST, AND APRIL THIRTIETH OF EACH YEAR.
