 AN  ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring the govern-
   ing body of each school district, which eliminates teaching  positions
   for  any school year, to decrease a proportional amount of administra-
   tive costs
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.    The  education  law  is amended by adding a new section
 1527-a to read as follows:
   § 1527-A. SCHOOL  BUDGET  REDUCTIONS.  DURING  THE  CONSIDERATION  AND
 ADOPTION  OF  THE PROPOSED SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET FOR ANY SCHOOL YEAR IN
 WHICH THERE IS THE PROPOSED ELIMINATION OF ANY TEACHING  POSITION  OR  A
 DECREASE  IN SALARY OR COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH POSITIONS, THE GOVERN-
 ING BODY OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT SHALL MAKE A  PROPORTIONAL  DECREASE  IN
 THE  AMOUNT  OF FUNDING ALLOCATED TO ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS INCLUDING COST
 ASSOCIATED WITH POSITIONS AND SALARIES OF ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF  IN  SUCH
 PROPOSED BUDGET.
   §  2.  This  act shall take effect immediately.  Effective immediately
 the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or  regulation  neces-
 sary  for  the  implementation  of  this  act  on its effective date are
 authorized to be made and completed on or before such date.
