 AN ACT to amend the penal  law,  in  relation  to  granting  dealers  in
   firearms access to the NYSPIN database
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Subdivision 2 of  section  400.10  of  the  penal  law,  as
 amended by chapter 1 of the laws of 2013, is amended to read as follows:
   2.  The  division  of state police shall receive, collect and file the
 information referred to in subdivision one of this section. The division
 shall cooperate, and undertake to  furnish  or  make  available  to  law
 enforcement  agencies  AND DEALERS IN FIREARMS this information, for the
 purpose of coordinating law enforcement efforts to locate such  weapons.
 FOR  PURPOSES  OF THIS SUBDIVISION, "DEALERS IN FIREARMS" SHALL HAVE THE
 SAME MEANING AS PROVIDED FOR IN SUBDIVISION NINE OF  SECTION  265.00  OF
 THIS CHAPTER.
   §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
 have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or
 repeal of any rule or regulation necessary  for  the  implementation  of
 this  act  on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed
 on or before such effective date.
