 AN ACT to amend the legislative law, in relation to prohibiting lobbying
   activities on the floor of the assembly and senate by  former  members
   of the legislature

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 1-n of the legislative law is amended by  adding  a
 new subdivision 4 to read as follows:
   4.  A  PERSON  REQUIRED TO FILE A STATEMENT OR REPORT PURSUANT TO THIS
 ARTICLE WHO HAS PREVIOUSLY SERVED AS A MEMBER OF  THE  ASSEMBLY  OR  THE
 SENATE  SHALL  NOT  ENGAGE  IN  LOBBYING  ACTIVITIES ON THE FLOOR OF THE
 ASSEMBLY OR THE SENATE. IF SUCH FORMER MEMBER REQUIRED TO FILE A  STATE-
 MENT  OR REPORT PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE IS ADMITTED TO THE FLOOR OF THE
 ASSEMBLY OR THE SENATE, SUCH FORMER MEMBER SHALL REFRAIN FROM ALL LOBBY-
 ING ACTIVITIES WHILE ON THE FLOOR.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
