 AN  ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation to requiring the disclo-
   sure of contractor's insurance company information
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. The insurance law is amended by adding a new section 344 to
 read as follows:
   § 344. DISCLOSURE OF CONTRACTOR'S INSURANCE INFORMATION. ANY PUBLIC OR
 PRIVATE  ENTITY WHICH HIRES A CONTRACTOR OR SUBCONTRACTOR SHALL DISCLOSE
 THE CONTRACTOR'S AND/OR SUBCONTRACTOR'S  INSURANCE  INFORMATION  TO  ANY
 OTHER  PERSON  OR PUBLIC OR PRIVATE ENTITY WHICH STATES THEY ARE LOOKING
 TO FILE A CLAIM AGAINST SUCH ENTITY AND THE  CONTRACTOR  AND/OR  SUBCON-
 TRACTOR  WAS UNDER CONTRACT WITH SUCH ENTITY  WHEN AND WHERE THE ALLEGED
 CLAIM AROSE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
