 AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring the  report-
   ing  of  the  results of English/language arts and mathematics assess-
   ments to the person in parental relation  to  each  elementary  school
   pupil who is so assessed
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 3211-b
 to read as follows:
   § 3211-B. REPORTS OF ENGLISH/LANGUAGE  ARTS  AND  MATHEMATICS  ASSESS-
 MENTS. THE RESULTS OF AND THE DEPARTMENT DESIGNATED PROFICIENCY LEVEL OF
 ANY ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS OR MATHEMATICS ASSESSMENT TEST ADMINISTERED BY
 A  SCHOOL  DISTRICT  OR  SCHOOL  TO ANY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PUPIL SHALL BE
 REPORTED TO THE PERSON IN PARENTAL RELATION TO SUCH PUPIL BY THE DEPART-
 MENT ON OR BEFORE THE LAST DAY OF CLASS FOR THE  SCHOOL  YEAR  IN  WHICH
 SUCH  TEST  WAS ADMINISTERED. THE REGENTS AND DEPARTMENT SHALL ESTABLISH
 AND PROVIDE TO EVERY PERSON IN PARENTAL RELATION,  SCHOOL  DISTRICT  AND
 SCHOOL, ON OR BEFORE MAY TWENTIETH, THE FOUR PROFICIENCY LEVELS FOR EACH
 GRADE LEVEL OR EACH ASSESSMENT TEST ADMINISTERED TO SUCH GRADE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
