 Introduced  by  Sen.  JACOBS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the state technology law,  in  relation  to  prohibiting
   certain  individuals  from downloading or using TikTok on state issued
   devices
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section  1. This act shall be known and may be cited as the "No TikTok
 on Government Devices Act".
   § 2. Section 103 of the state technology law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 22 to read as follows:
   22.  (A)  TO  ENSURE NO EMPLOYEE OR PUBLIC OFFICER OF THE STATE OR ANY
 POLITICAL SUBDIVISION THEREOF DOWNLOADS OR USES THE  APPLICATION  TIKTOK
 OR  ANY SUCCESSOR APPLICATION DEVELOPED BY BYTEDANCE OR ANY ENTITY OWNED
 BY BYTEDANCE ON ANY DEVICE ISSUED BY THE STATE OR ANY POLITICAL SUBDIVI-
 SION THEREOF.
   (B) PARAGRAPH (A) OF THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL NOT APPLY TO ANY  INVESTI-
 GATION,  CYBERSECURITY  RESEARCH ACTIVITY, ENFORCEMENT ACTION, DISCIPLI-
 NARY ACTION, OR INTELLIGENCE ACTIVITY.
   § 3. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day  after  it  shall
 have become a law.
