S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 11126 I N A S S E M B L Y November 6, 2020 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Galef) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT in relation to ordering a study and report on improvements of State Route 9A in the towns of Ossining and Mount Pleasant; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The department of transportation is hereby authorized and directed to conduct a study on proposed improvements of State Route 9A in the towns of Ossining and Mount Pleasant. 1. Such study shall address no less than the following issues: (a) The estimated total cost of new guardrail installation; (b) The estimated total cost of underpass renovations to accommodate commercial vehicles; (c) The estimated duration of the project; (d) The impact construction will have on local traffic patterns; (e) The environmental impact of the project, represented in an envi- ronmental impact statement, if such statement is required by law, or is deemed warranted according to the discretion of the department of trans- portation; and (f) Identify areas for cooperation between agencies who have purview over this project and/or relevant properties and solicit and incorporate input from such agencies. 2. The department of transportation shall report such findings to the governor and the legislature within one year after the effective date of this act. ยง 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire one year after it shall have become a law when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed.
