BILL NUMBER: S2069 SPONSOR: METZGER TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to the promotion of New York state farm products for holiday celebrations PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to authorize the Department of Agriculture and Markets to aid in the promotion of New York grown farm products for holiday celebrations by providing information about New York growers to vendors who sell such products and to municipalities where vendors sell them on sidewalks or lots or streets. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Amends section 16 of the agriculture and markets law by adding a new subdivision 2-f which will authorize the Department of Agriculture and Markets in conjunction with the Empire State Development Corporation, to aid in the promotion of New York grown farm products for

METZGER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Agriculture AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to the promotion of New York state farm products for holiday celebrations THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 16 of the agriculture and markets law is amended by adding a new subdivision 2-f to read as follows: 2-F. AID IN THE PROMOTION, MARKETING AND SALE OF NEW YORK STATE FARM PRODUCTS USED FOR HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AND DECORATIONS, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CHRISTMAS TREES, WREATHS, PUMPKINS, FLOWERS AND OTHER SIMILAR PRODUCTS IN COOPERATION WITH THE EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT CORPO- RATION BY PROVIDING LISTINGS OF SUCH GROWERS AND SUPPLIERS TO VENDORS SELLING SUCH PRODUCTS AND TO MUNICIPALITIES THAT MAY PROVIDE SUCH INFOR- MATION TO VENDORS SELLING SUCH PRODUCTS ON MUNICIPAL SIDEWALKS, LOTS OR STREETS. § 2.
