BILL NUMBER: S3300 SPONSOR: BROOKS TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the civil service law, in relation to 55-c programs PURPOSE: The purpose of this bill is to require that employers prominently display that a job is 55-c eligible on such job postings, which are intended to employ disabled veterans. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. of this bill amends section 55-c of the civil service law to add subsection three, which requires employers to prominently display "55-c Eligible" on job postings for 55-c eligible positions Section 2. is the enacting clause.

BROOKS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi- ty and Military Affairs AN ACT to amend the civil service law, in relation to 55-c programs THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 55-c of the civil service law, as amended by chap- ter 603 of the laws of 1995, is amended by adding a new subdivision 3 to read as follows: 3. WHEN POSTING JOBS THAT FALL UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SECTION, ALL STATE AGENCIES SHALL PROMINENTLY IDENTIFY ON SUCH POSTING THAT SUCH JOB IS "55-C ELIGIBLE". § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09320-01-9
