 AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to establishing the crime  of
   criminal sale of a gravity knife
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The penal law is amended by adding a new section 265.46  to
 read as follows:
 § 265.46 CRIMINAL SALE OF A GRAVITY KNIFE.
   A  PERSON  IS  GUILTY  OF  CRIMINAL  SALE OF A GRAVITY KNIFE WHEN SUCH
 PERSON:
   (1) SELLS, EXCHANGES, GIVES OR DISPOSES OF A GRAVITY KNIFE TO  ANOTHER
 PERSON; OR
   (2) POSSESSES A GRAVITY KNIFE WITH THE INTENT TO SELL IT.
   CRIMINAL SALE OF A GRAVITY KNIFE IS A CLASS A MISDEMEANOR.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
 it shall have become a law.
