BILL NUMBER: S4201 SPONSOR: GOUNARDES TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to terminal leave PURPOSE: To provide uniformed members of the New York City Department of Correction and the New York City Department of Sanitation the option of taking a monetary payment in lieu of terminal leave SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of this bill amends the administrative code of the City of New York through the addition of a new section 9-134 which relates to the terminal leave of uniformed personnel in the New York City Department of Correction. GOUNARDES -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Cities AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to terminal leave THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 9-157 to read as follows: § 9-157 TERMINAL LEAVE. NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF ANY GENERAL, SPECIAL OR LOCAL LAW, CODE, RESOLUTION OR CHARTER TO THE CONTRARY, UNIFORMED PERSONNEL OF THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION SHALL BE AFFORDED THE OPTION OF TAKING A MONETARY PAYMENT IN LIEU OF TERMINAL LEAVE AT THE RATE APPLICABLE ON THE DATE OF RETIREMENT. § 2. The administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 16-143 to read as follows: § 16-143 TERMINAL LEAVE. NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF ANY GENER- AL, SPECIAL OR LOCAL LAW, CODE, RESOLUTION OR CHARTER TO THE CONTRARY, UNIFORMED MEMBERS OF THE NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF SANITATION SHALL BE AFFORDED THE OPTION OF TAKING A MONETARY PAYMENT IN LIEU OF TERMINAL LEAVE AT THE RATE APPLICABLE ON THE DATE OF RETIREMENT. § 3.
