BILL NUMBER: S5605 SPONSOR: RIVERA TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the public health law, in relation to including the record of completion of annually required in-service education in the state home care worker registry PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Allows an individual's annual in-service training and hours to be submitted for inclusion in the Home Care Worker Registry by the home care services entity conducting the in-service for the worker. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 amends subdivision 3 of section 3613 by allowing the record of each in-service training and hours completed by the worker to be entered into the Home Care Worker Registry by the home care services entity conducting the in-service for the worker. Section 2 establishes the effective date.

RIVERA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to including the record of completion of annually required in-service education in the state home care worker registry THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 3613 of the public health law is amended by adding a new paragraph (i) to read as follows: (I) A RECORD OF EACH IN-SERVICE TRAINING AND HOURS COMPLETED BY THE WORKER TOWARD FULFILLMENT OF HIS/HER ANNUAL IN-SERVICE TRAINING REQUIRE- MENTS STIPULATED IN THE REGULATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT; SUCH RECORD OF COMPLETION SHALL BE TIMELY SUBMITTED FOR INCLUSION IN THE REGISTRY FOR EACH WORKER BY THE HOME CARE SERVICES ENTITY CONDUCTING THE IN-SERVICE FOR SUCH WORKER. § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed- ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
