BILL NUMBER: S6350 SPONSOR: KAMINSKY TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend chapter 366 of the laws of 2011 amend- ing the environmental conservation law relating to youth pheasant hunt- ing days on Long Island, in relation to the effectiveness of such chap- ter PURPOSE OF THE BILL: The purpose of this bill is to extend the authority of the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to fix annually by regulation the open seasons and bag limits for pheasants on Long Island for those who hold a junior license. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1 of this bill amends section 3 of Chapter 366 of the Laws of 2011 to extend Environmental Conservation Law (ECL) § 11-0903(2) (c-1) until December 31, 2022, which authorizes DEC to hold a youth hunt pursuant to regulations which establish open season and bag limits for

KAMINSKY -- (at request of the Department of Environ- mental Conservation) -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend chapter 366 of the laws of 2011 amending the environ- mental conservation law relating to youth pheasant hunting days on Long Island, in relation to the effectiveness of such chapter THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3 of chapter 366 of the laws of 2011, amending the environmental conservation law relating to youth pheasant hunting days on Long Island, as amended by chapter 178 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows: § 3. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall have become a law; provided that paragraph c-1 of section 11-0903 of the environmental conservation law as added by section one of this act shall expire and be deemed repealed on December 31, [2019] 2022. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09073-01-9
