BILL NUMBER: S6378 SPONSOR: LAVALLE TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the highway law, in relation to desig- nating a portion of the state highway system as "Dan Rattiner Way" PURPOSE: Designates a portion of the state highway system as the "Dan Rattiner Way" SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1. Amends the Highway Law by adding a new Section 344-k desig- nating a portion of State Route 27 in the hamlet of Bridgehampton in Suffolk County, beginning at the intersection of Snake Hollow Road and ending at the intersection of Butter Lane, as "Dan Rattiner Way." Section 2. The Commissioner of the Department of Transportation shall provide for the installation and maintenance of adequate signage, howev- er, such designation shall be ceremonial in nature and the official name

THIELE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as "Dan Rattiner Way" THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-k to read as follows: § 344-K. PORTION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM TO BE DESIGNATED AS "DAN RATTINER WAY". THAT PORTION OF STATE ROUTE TWENTY-SEVEN IN THE HAMLET OF BRIDGEHAMPTON, SUFFOLK COUNTY, BEGINNING AT THE INTERSECTION OF SNAKE HOLLOW ROAD AND ENDING AT THE INTERSECTION OF BUTTER LANE, SHALL BE DESIGNATED AND KNOWN AS "DAN RATTINER WAY". § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be changed as a result of this act. § 3.
