AMEDORE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Civil Service and Pensions AN ACT to authorize Stephen Ferraro and Stephen Porcello to take the competitive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as full-time police officers for the village of St. Johnsville, county of Montgomery THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil service law, or any other law to the contrary, Stephen Ferraro, born October 29, 1980, and Stephen Porcello, born January 1, 1981, who have been continuously employed by the village of St. Johnsville, in the county of Montgomery, as part-time police officers, shall be eligible to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer and shall, contingent upon each individual's score on such examination, be eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for the village of St. Johns- ville. § 2. Stephen Ferraro and Stephen Porcello shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police officers. § 3. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD13460-05-0
