 AN ACT in relation to directing certain local governments to  reevaluate
   resolutions  adopted  pursuant  to the objectives of the climate smart
   community program and reconsider registering with such program

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law and in order to
 revitalize the climate smart community program, any county,  town,  city
 or  village  in  this  state  (hereafter "local government") that, on or
 before December 31, 2014, adopted a resolution to take action to  reduce
 greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to a changing climate pursuant to the
 objectives  of the climate smart community program, and failed to regis-
 ter or become certified with such program, shall, within 120 days  after
 the effective date of this act, reevaluate such resolution and reconsid-
 er  registering  with such program.   When reevaluating such resolution,
 each local government shall consider the goals and objectives to  reduce
 greenhouse  gas  emissions  and  utilize renewable energy systems as set
 forth in chapter 106 of the laws of 2019.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
