BILL NUMBER: S8921 SPONSOR: COMRIE TITLE OF BILL: An act providing for the postponement of the New York city 2020 tax lien sale until one year after the COVID-19 state of emergency has been lift- ed PURPOSE: To postpone the New York City 2020 tax lien sale until one year after the COVID-19 state of emergency has been lifted. S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 8921 I N S E N A T E August 19, 2020 ___________ Introduced by Sen. COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT providing for the postponement of the New York city 2020 tax lien sale until one year after the COVID-19 state of emergency has been lifted THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the New York city 2020 tax lien sale, which was originally scheduled to be held on May 15, 2020 and has since further been delayed, shall be post- poned and shall not occur until one year from the date the state disas- ter emergency declared pursuant to executive order 202 of 2020 has been lifted. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD17138-01-0
