 Introduced  by Sen. GAUGHRAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
 AN ACT to amend the public service law, in relation to proof of  service
   to  municipalities  by  applicants  for  certificates of environmental
   compatibility and public need relating to the construction of a  major
   utility transmission facility

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subparagraph i of paragraph (a) of subdivision 2 of section
 122 of the public service law, as amended by chapter 521 of the laws  of
 2015, is amended to read as follows:
   i.  each  municipality  in which any portion of such facility is to be
 located, OR WITHIN A ONE MILE RADIUS OF WHERE SUCH  FACILITY  IS  TO  BE
 LOCATED,  both  as  primarily  proposed and in the alternative locations
 listed. Notice to a municipality shall be addressed to the chief  execu-
 tive  officer  thereof  and shall specify the date on or about which the
 application is to be filed;
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
