 AN ACT to direct the department of civil service to conduct a  study  to
   determine the number of people with a disability employed by agencies;
   and  providing  for  the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration
   thereof

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. 1. The following terms when used in this act shall have the
 following meanings:
   (a)  "disability"  shall  have  the same meaning as section 292 of the
 executive law; and
   (b) "agency" shall mean any  department,  board,  bureau,  commission,
 division,  office,  council,  committee,  public  benefit corporation or
 public authority at least one of  whose  members  is  appointed  by  the
 governor.
   2. (a) The department of civil service shall conduct a study to deter-
 mine  the  number  of people with a disability employed by an agency and
 shall make a report including any recommendations to increase the number
 of people with disabilities employed by such agencies.
   (b) Such report shall also include but not be limited to:
   (i) the total number of employees in the state with a disability;
   (ii) an agency  by  agency  breakdown  containing  the  percentage  of
 employees with a disability;
   (iii) a breakdown of the number of employees with a disability who are
 part of the civil service;
   (iv)  a breakdown of the number of employees with a disability who are
 management confidential; and
   (v) a breakdown of the number of employees with a disability who serve
 in a supervisory role.
