 AN  ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to providing employ-
   ees with paid time off to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  public health law is amended by adding a new section
 2183 to read as follows:
   § 2183. TIME ALLOWED EMPLOYEES FOR COVID-19 VACCINATION. IF AN EMPLOY-
 EE IS UNABLE TO OBTAIN A COVID-19 VACCINATION OUTSIDE OF THEIR SCHEDULED
 WORKING HOURS, SUCH EMPLOYEE SHALL BE PERMITTED, WITHOUT LOSS OF PAY, TO
 TAKE OFF THE NECESSARY WORKING TIME TO OBTAIN SUCH  VACCINATION.    TIME
 SHALL  BE  ALLOWED  FOR  EACH NECESSARY DOSE OF THE VACCINE. NO EMPLOYER
 SHALL DISCHARGE OR OTHERWISE RETALIATE  AGAINST  AN  EMPLOYEE  WHO  USES
 WORKING TIME TO OBTAIN A COVID-19 VACCINATION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
