 AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to providing additional unem-
   ployment insurance benefits

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 5 of section 590 of the labor law is amended by
 adding a new paragraph (c) to read as follows:
   (C) NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER LAW, RULE OR REGULATION TO THE CONTRARY,
 BEGINNING AUGUST FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY UNTIL THE END OF THE  COVID-
 19  STATE  DISASTER  EMERGENCY,  AS DECLARED PURSUANT TO EXECUTIVE ORDER
 NUMBER TWO HUNDRED TWO OF TWO THOUSAND TWENTY, A CLAIMANT'S WEEKLY BENE-
 FIT AMOUNT SHALL BE INCREASED BY  SIX  HUNDRED  DOLLARS  PER  WEEK.  THE
 ASSISTANCE  PROVIDED  UNDER THIS SUBDIVISION MAY BE FUNDED BY ANY AVAIL-
 ABLE FEDERAL OR STATE EMERGENCY RELIEF  FUNDS  AVAILABLE  TO  THE  STATE
 AND/OR  ANY  FUNDS RECEIVED UPON REQUISITION FROM THE UNEMPLOYMENT TRUST
 FUND.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and  shall  be  deemed  to
 have been in full force and effect on and after August 1, 2020.
