 AN ACT authorizing the county of Suffolk to alienate and discontinue the
   use of certain parklands
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

   Section 1. Notwithstanding the failure of the county  of  Suffolk,  to
 seek  and  receive state legislative authorization to alienate the park-
 lands described in section four of this act prior to such parkland being
 alienated, such alienation is hereby validated, legalized, ratified  and
 confirmed.
   §  2.  Subject  to  the provisions of this act, the county of Suffolk,
 acting by and through its governing body and upon such terms and  condi-
 tions as determined by such body, is hereby authorized to discontinue as
 parklands  and  to  alienate the lands described in section four of this
 act for use by the county department of public works.
   § 3. The authorization provided in section two of this  act  shall  be
 effective  only  upon  the condition that the county of Suffolk dedicate
 the lands described in section five of this act as  parklands,  provided
 that  the  county  of  Suffolk has never used such lands for public open
 space or park purposes.
   § 4. The parklands authorized by section two of this act to be  alien-
 ated are more particularly described as follows:
 District 900 Section 331 Block 1 Lot 2:
   All  that  certain  piece  or  parcel  of land situated at the Town of
 Southampton, Suffolk County, New York, being more particularly described
 as follows: Lots 1 to 16, inclusive, in Block 14, as shown on  the  "Map
 of Suffolk Terrace", Section D, filed in the office of the Suffolk Coun-
 ty  Clerk  on  August  6,  1910,  as Map Number 517. Said tract contains
 40,000 square feet, or 0.918 acres, more or less.
 District 900 Section 331 Block 1 Lot 3:
