LUPARDO -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Agriculture AN ACT to amend the agriculture and markets law, in relation to a report on improving urban and rural consumer access to locally produced, healthy foods, and to amend a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the agriculture and markets law relating to the task force on improving urban and rural consumer access to locally produced, healthy foods, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 1056 and A. 4613, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 28 of the agriculture and markets law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the agriculture and markets law relating to the task force on improving urban and rural consumer access to locally produced, healthy foods, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 1056 and A. 4613, is amended to read as follows: § 28. [Task force on] ADVISORY GROUP FOR improving urban and rural consumer access to locally produced, healthy foods. [1. There is hereby created the task force on improving urban and rural consumer access to locally produced, healthy foods. The task force is to be comprised of eleven members. Such task force shall have one ex-officio chairperson, who shall be the] THE commissioner [or his or her designee. Four members shall be appointed by the governor, two members shall be appointed by the temporary president of the senate, two members shall be appointed by the speaker of the assembly, one member shall be appointed by the minor- ity leader of the senate and one member shall be appointed by the minor- ity leader of the assembly. The appointed members of such task force shall be representative of: (a) a farm engaged in growing crops, livestock or livestock products, as defined in section three hundred one of this chapter; (b) not-for-profit food access organizations dedicated to expanding access of underserved, urban and rural communities to healthy, locally produced food; (c) the grocery industry; and EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
