LAWLER -- read once and referred to the Committee on Health AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to setting aside funds for training programs for first responders THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 3002 of the public health law is amended by adding a new subdivision 2-c to read as follows: 2-C. THE COMMISSIONER, IN CONSULTATION WITH THE STATE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES COUNCIL, SHALL SET ASIDE AN AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS ON AN ANNUAL BASIS FOR TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR ALL CURRENT AND NEW CAREER FIRST RESPONDERS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS, ADVANCED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO BE EQUITABLY DISTRIBUTED AMONG ALL REGIONS OF THE STATE. § 2.
