 Introduced  by  Sen. HOYLMAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Health
 
 AN ACT to amend the public health law,  in  relation  to  requiring  the
   department  of  health  to  collect  and maintain data relating to the
   sexual orientation and gender identity of individuals  diagnosed  with
   COVID-19

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 206 of the public health law is amended by adding a
 new subdivision 31 to read as follows:
   31. THE DEPARTMENT SHALL, IN COORDINATION WITH  LOCAL  DEPARTMENTS  OF
 HEALTH, COLLECT AND MAINTAIN DATA RELATING TO THE SEXUAL ORIENTATION AND
 GENDER IDENTITY OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DIAGNOSED WITH COVID-19.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
