BILL NUMBER: S6943 SPONSOR: SERINO TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the labor law, in relation to the model sexual harass- ment prevention training program PURPOSE: To ensure costs associated with sexual harassment training requirements for employers are borne by the state. SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS: Section 1: Subdivision 2 of section 201-g of the labor law is amended to explicitly require that the model sexual harassment prevention training program shall be made available in an interactive format on the Depart- ment of Labor's website at no cost to employers. Section 2: Establishes the effective date.

SERINO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to the model sexual harass- ment prevention training program THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 201-g of the labor law is amended by adding two new paragraphs d and e to read as follows: D. SUCH MODEL SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION TRAINING PROGRAM SHALL BE MADE AVAILABLE ON THE DEPARTMENT'S WEBSITE, AT NO COST, AND SHALL BE AVAILABLE IN A FORMAT THAT PROMPTS EMPLOYEES WITH INTERACTIVE QUESTIONS THAT ARE TO BE ANSWERED CORRECTLY BY EMPLOYEES IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE TRAINING PROGRAM IN A MANNER DETERMINED BY THE DEPARTMENT IN CONSULTA- TION WITH THE DIVISION OF HUMAN RIGHTS. E. UTILIZING THE MODEL SEXUAL HARASSMENT PREVENTION TRAINING PROGRAM PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH D OF THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL BE DEEMED SUFFICIENT FOR MEETING THE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS PURSUANT TO PARAGRAPH C OF THIS SUBDIVISION FOR EACH YEAR THAT IT IS PROVIDED TO ALL EMPLOYEES AND UTILIZED. § 2.
