   printed to be committed to the Committee on Judiciary
 
 AN ACT to amend the judiciary law, in relation to  requiring  the  chief
   administrator of the courts to submit a report on a plan to respond to
   the end of the moratorium on evictions

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 1 of  section  212  of  the  judiciary  law  is
 amended by adding a new paragraph (z) to read as follows:
   (Z)  PREPARE,  ON  OR  BEFORE  THE FIFTEENTH DAY OF JULY, TWO THOUSAND
 TWENTY-ONE, A REPORT WITH A PLAN FOR THE STATEWIDE COURT SYSTEM'S ADMIN-
 ISTRATION OF SUMMARY PROCEEDINGS PURSUANT TO ARTICLE SEVEN OF  THE  REAL
 PROPERTY  ACTIONS AND PROCEEDINGS LAW, WHICH ARE PENDING ON SUCH DATE OR
 WHICH WILL BE COMMENCED UPON THE EXPIRATION OF THE MORATORIUM. SUCH PLAN
 SHALL RESPOND TO COURT AND CALENDAR CONGESTION WHICH  WILL  RESULT  FROM
 THE LAPSE OF THE MORATORIUM ON EVICTIONS. SUCH REPORT SHALL INCLUDE, BUT
 NOT  BE  LIMITED  TO, CONSIDERATION OF THE FOLLOWING:  ALTERNATIVE SPACE
 AVAILABLE FOR TEMPORARILY HOUSING COURT  PROCEEDINGS;  ADDITIONAL  COURT
 HOURS  INCLUDING  EVENINGS;  ASSIGNMENT  OF ADDITIONAL JUDGES OR HEARING
 OFFICERS TO RESPOND TO INCREASED CASE LOAD ISSUES; AND COORDINATION WITH
 THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND  DISABILITY  ASSISTANCE  TO  ENSURE  PARTIC-
 IPATION  TO  PROVIDE  EMERGENCY  RENT  REGULATION PROGRAM ASSISTANCE FOR
 TENANTS AND OWNERS IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER AVAILABLE PROGRAMS  SUCH  AS
 FAMILY HOMELESSNESS AND EVICTION PREVENTION SUPPLEMENT.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
