 Introduced  by  Sen. SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Racing, Gaming and  Wager-
   ing
 
 AN  ACT  to  amend the racing, pari-mutuel wagering and breeding law, in
   relation to the membership of the board of directors of  the  Catskill
   regional off-track betting corporation

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. The  racing,  pari-mutuel  wagering  and  breeding  law  is
 amended by adding a new section 502-a to read as follows:
   §  502-A. SPECIAL PROVISIONS WITH REGARD TO THE CATSKILL REGIONAL OFF-
 TRACK BETTING CORPORATION. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY INCONSISTENT PROVISION OF
 THIS ARTICLE, ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS SECTION  THE  TERM  OF  EACH
 BOARD  MEMBER OF THE CATSKILL REGIONAL OFF-TRACK BETTING CORPORATION, OR
 ANY VACANT POSITION, SHALL BE DEEMED EXPIRED, AND EACH SUCH BOARD MEMBER
 OR VACANT POSITION SHALL BE REPLACED WITH NEW APPOINTMENTS.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day  after  it  shall
 have  become  a  law,  provided, however, that effective immediately any
 action necessary to begin the selection and appointment process for  new
 board  member terms pursuant to this act are authorized to be made on or
 before such effective date.
