 Introduced  by  Sen.  CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Consumer Protection
 
 AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring tele-
   marketers to add a customer's  telephone  number  to  all  do-not-call
   lists maintained by such telemarketer
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 399-z of the general business  law  is  amended  by
 adding a new subdivision 9-a to read as follows:
   9-A. WHERE A CUSTOMER REQUESTS TO HAVE HIS OR HER TELEPHONE NUMBER PUT
 ON A DO-NOT-CALL LIST MAINTAINED BY A TELEMARKETER AND SUCH TELEMARKETER
 MAINTAINS  MORE  THAN  ONE SUCH DO-NOT-CALL LIST, THE TELEMARKETER SHALL
 PLACE THE TELEPHONE NUMBER OF SUCH CUSTOMER  ON  ALL  DO-NOT-CALL  LISTS
 MAINTAINED BY SUCH TELEMARKETER.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
