 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  environmental  conservation law, in relation to
   increasing rebates to municipalities for  the  cost  of  any  eligible
   infrastructure  projects  which support the development of clean vehi-
   cles
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Paragraph  b  of  subdivision 3 of section 54-1521 of the
 environmental conservation law, as added by section 5 of part U of chap-
 ter 58 of the laws of 2016, is amended to read as follows:
   b. The department, in consultation with  the  New  York  state  energy
 research  and  development  authority, shall determine the amount of the
 rebate taking into consideration the  electric  range  of  the  vehicle,
 provided  that  a  rebate of an eligible purchase shall be not less than
 [seven hundred fifty] ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED dollars per vehicle  and
 not more than [five] SEVEN thousand FIVE HUNDRED dollars per vehicle.
   §  2.  This act shall take effect immediately and shall apply to costs
 incurred on and after such date.
