 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  election law, in relation to absentee voting by
   residents of nursing homes and other long-term  care  facilities;  and
   providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 8-407 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 16 to read as follows:
   16. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY OTHER PROVISION OF THIS SECTION TO THE CONTRA-
 RY,  INSPECTORS  OF  THE  BOARD SHALL NOT ATTEND AND/OR VISIT FACILITIES
 COVERED UNDER THIS SECTION, AND SHALL NOT PHYSICALLY DELIVER BALLOTS  TO
 RESIDENTS   OF  SUCH  FACILITIES  IN-PERSON  FOR  PRIMARY  ELECTIONS  OR
 ELECTIONS HELD ON OR PRIOR TO DECEMBER FIRST, TWO  THOUSAND  TWENTY-ONE.
 BOARDS  OF  ELECTIONS  SHALL  MAIL OR DELIVER ABSENTEE BALLOTS TO VOTERS
 RESIDING IN SUCH FACILITIES IN THE SAME MANNER AS ABSENTEE  BALLOTS  ARE
 DELIVERED TO OTHER ABSENTEE VOTERS PURSUANT TO THIS TITLE.
   §  2.  This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire January
 1, 2022 when upon such date the provisions of this act shall  be  deemed
 repealed.
