S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 6336 2021-2022 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y March 16, 2021 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SILLITTI -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Education AN ACT to permit the Great Neck school district to move the date of their annual meeting and election for the 2021 year so that it does not conflict with the observance of a holiday THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, for the 2021 year the Great Neck public school district, located in Nassau county, shall be permitted to move their annual meeting and election from the third Tuesday of May as required by section 2002 of the education law, and hold such meeting on May 11, 2021 so that it does not interfere with the observance of the holiday Shavuot. Such meeting shall otherwise be held in the same manner and location as specified pursuant to section 2002 of the education law. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed repealed June 1, 2021. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, for the 2021 year, the Great Neck union free school district shall be permitted to move their annual meeting and election from the third Tues- day of May as required by sections 2002 and 2022 of the education law to the second Tuesday of May so that it does not conflict with religious observances.
