JEAN-PIERRE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Children and Families AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to information provided to unlicensed or unregistered child day care providers by the office of children and family services; and to amend a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the social services law, relating to information provided to unlicensed or unregistered child day care providers by the office of children and family services, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 5081 and A. 1860, in relation to the effectiveness thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 5-a of section 390 of the social services law, as added by a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the social services law, relating to information provided to unlicensed or unregistered child day care providers by the office of children and family services, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 5081 and A. 1860, is amended to read as follows: 5-a. The office of children and family services shall provide, UPON REQUEST, all applications and forms necessary to become a licensed or registered child day care provider in English, French, Polish, [and] OR ANY OF the [six] TEN most common non-English languages spoken by indi- viduals with limited-English proficiency in the state of New York, based on United States census data. § 2. Section 2 of a chapter of the laws of 2021 amending the social services law, relating to information provided to unlicensed or unregis- tered child day care providers by the office of children and family services, as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 5081 and A. 1860, is amended to read as follows: § 2. This act shall take effect [immediately] ON THE NINETIETH DAY AFTER IT SHALL HAVE BECOME A LAW. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted.
