PAULIN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Local Governments AN ACT to amend the county law and the municipal home rule law, in relation to websites maintained by a county THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The county law is amended by adding a new section 55 to read as follows: § 55. COUNTY WEBSITES. ANY COUNTY WHICH MAINTAINS A WEBSITE SHALL USE A ".GOV" DOMAIN NAME FOR SUCH WEBSITE. § 2. The municipal home rule law is amended by adding a new section 35-a to read as follows: § 35-A. COUNTY WEBSITES. ANY COUNTY OPERATING UNDER A COUNTY CHARTER AS DEFINED IN SECTION THIRTY-TWO OF THIS PART WHICH MAINTAINS A WEBSITE SHALL USE A ".GOV" DOMAIN NAME FOR SUCH WEBSITE. § 3. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD14559-01-2
