 AN  ACT  to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the
   prohibition of hunting wild deer on state lands adjacent to a licensed
   wildlife rehabilitation facility
 
   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Section  11-0901 of the environmental conservation law is
 amended by adding a new subdivision 17 to read as follows:
   17. NOTWITHSTANDING ANY INCONSISTENT PROVISION OF THIS  SECTION,  DEER
 SHALL  NOT BE TAKEN IN THE TOWN OF SOUTHAMPTON, COUNTY OF SUFFOLK ON ANY
 STATE LANDS DIRECTLY ADJACENT TO PROPERTY  OF  THE  COUNTY  OF  SUFFOLK,
 WHERE  SAID  COUNTY  HAS PERMITTED SAID PROPERTY TO BE USED FOR WILDLIFE
 REHABILITATION PURPOSES, BY A WILDLIFE REHABILITATOR, LICENSED  PURSUANT
 TO SECTION 11-0515 OF THIS ARTICLE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
