BILL NUMBER: S113 SPONSOR: KAPLAN TITLE OF BILL: An act to amend the business corporation law and the limited liability company law, in relation to directing the secretary of state to provide information to certain new businesses PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL: Would require when upon receipt of a statement of filing that secretary of state shall confirm receipt and include useful information for busi- ness including but not limited to: contact information for the local SBDC, local EAC, business mentor NY, and Empire State Development. SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS: Section 1 adds a new paragraph 9 in Section 408 of the business corpo- ration law to require upon receipt of a filing by the Secretary of State, receipt shall be confirmed. Section 408 of the business corporation law is amended by adding a new paragraph 9 to read as follows: 9. UPON THE RECEIPT OF A STATEMENT FOR FILING BY THE SECRETARY OF STATE PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION, THE SECRETARY OF STATE SHALL CONFIRM SUCH RECEIPT BY MAIL OR EMAIL TO THE CORPORATION AT THE ADDRESS OR EMAIL ADDRESS SET FORTH IN SUCH STATEMENT. IN ADDITION, THE SECRETARY OF STATE SHALL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO INCLUDING, THE FOLLOWING INFORMA- TION IN SUCH MAILING OR EMAIL: (A) CONTACT INFORMATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO WEBSITE, ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER, OF THE NEW YORK STATE SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER SERVING THEIR REGION; (B) CONTACT INFORMATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO WEBSITE, ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER, OF THE NEW YORK STATE ENTREPRENEURSHIP ASSISTANCE CENTER SERVING THEIR REGION; (C) CONTACT INFORMATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE WEBSITE, ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER OF BUSINESS MENTOR NY; AND (D) CONTACT INFORMATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO WEBSITE, ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER, OF EMPIRE STATE DEVELOPMENT.
